We explain our proposed requirement for suppliers to offer lower standing charge options in the domestic energy market. This also includes our main objectives for this statutory consultation.

Details

We want consumers to have more choice and control over how standing charge costs are paid while making sure suppliers can recover efficient costs.

We set out our proposals to:

• introduce the requirement for suppliers to offer lower standing charge tariffs for customers on all payment types
• create a new licence condition that states energy suppliers must offer the new tariffs to their customers
